Diagnosis of Pulmonary Embolism with Radioaerosol Ventilation Lung Scan and Perfusion Lung Scan

Abstract

|
We report a case of pulmonary embolism which was diagnosed by radioaerosol
99mTc-DTPA ventilation scan and 99mTc-HSA perfusion
lung scan. The diagnosis was confirmed by digital subtraction angiography of pulmonary
artery. We suggest that radioaerosol 99mTc-DTPA ventilation scan is a
useful alternative to l33Xe-ventilation scan in the diagnosis of pulmonary
embolism.
